What We Do
Established by founder members who noted an absence of sports activities in St. Katharine and Wapping, St. Katharine’s Trust (SKT) serves as a vehicle to help improve fitness, community cohesion and confidence for young and older unemployed or low-income residents. It has grown since then to gain charitable status and works across the borough. The Club has primarily been managed by Matin Miah since 2006, was formally constituted in 2008 and its Management Board includes two solicitors, an IT specilaist and community arts engagement officer for the borough.
Treat Others as You’d Like to Be Treated
Helping out locally
As a voluntarily managed organization, SKT offers particularly good ‘value for money’ and is able to provide quality services within very limited budgets and timetables. In addition to Trustees from a diversity of legal, IT, health and local authority backgrounds, SKT’s team of local residents include a CEO who is an experienced sportsman, qualified Welfare Officer, UEFA level B football coach and Level 6 referee. While serving as role model for disenfranchised young people, our volunteer coaches are also certified in First Aid, FA qualified coaches ,Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Risk Assessment.
